Oh hey!

Well. BIG NEWS: Zac's bag arrived at the airport when we did. no drama there really. We made it to Kathmandu just dandy. We stayed for a couple of days gettting used to the crazy! I've already acquired a pair of harem pants and Zac has tried all the local beers. We accidentally took a taxi to Bahktapur, this ancient old king's palace square from the 1600/1700s. There is one temple where during this certain festival they sacrifice 180 animals!!

The last few days we spent exploring the jungle with Krishna and Baba our fierce jungle born leaders in Chitwan. HOLY SHIT IT IS HOT IN CHITWAN. Let's just say sweaty is not a good look on either of us....anyways, Krishna told us stories of being attacked by three sloth bears that he fended off himself. In Chitwan weed is the natural "weeds" of the village, it grows absolutely everywhere.... and so were "special" or "rainbow" lassis..... We toured with a wild group of asians and a guy from Oakbank! He'd been living in Thailand for a year on vacay... let's just say you can take the boy out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the boy...........

Well heres a tinkling of what's happened so far....

  1. Glad to hear your bags caught up to you! Relief. Good photos. I like your transportation, too.
You are probably having too much fun to pay attention, so here's the Weekend Update: Week before it was all Royal Wedding, all the time except for reports on Seth Meyers killing at the US Press Correspondents Dinner. ("The Donald has announced he is running as a Republican. I thought he was running as a joke!") But when Osama bin Laden was killed, that became the only story out of the US, except for the 2012 presidential hopefuls for the Republicans, including Sarah Palin who appeared on SNL yesterday (Tina Fey, that is). In the meantime, we have a new Conservative majority, with an NDP opposition. If you had been running for the NDP, you would have been elected! About 4 students (a couple are 19)are now making $145K+ as MPs while they go to school! One new MP is a young woman working as a waitress who does not live in her riding, may not even have stepped into the riding during the campaign as she was in Vegas on vacay and does not speak French (riding is 97% French-speaking). Then signatures on her papers were thought to be false. Oh, and in the wisdom of the people, Michael Ignatieff did not get elected and will be teaching at the U of T. The Canucks are killing us by going into overtime in nearly every game. We squeaked by Chicago (good thing, cuz I had a bet with Chicago client) and now we need to win the next game to go to the next round. Our new premier has a by-election she needs to win to get into the legislature, but if the Canucks are playing, no one may turn up to vote. It's Canuck fever all day, every day here.

sounds like your adventure is off to a great start! Have fun and love to you.
